Without more details and the domain name it is very tough to offer much help.

post your domain name so we can have a look and try and help you find out why

The same happened to my site. It wouldn't show up for search terms, only when I typed in the exact URL. Then, it showed no description. After a few weeks though, this fixed itself.... I'd just leave it awhile if you're site is new. If it isn't new then I don't know why the description would disappear

Like this?

example

I think this just means the site has yet to be indexed (and may not have even been crawled)

Make sure,
<title>xxxxxxxxxxxx</title>
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="xxxxxxxxx">

are properly entered on your website and wait for the next crawl
