This is the weirdest thing of the year for me.

Today, I received a call from a girlfriend that was classmate in high school... that's like 20 years ago!!

She found my data searching my whole name and that stupid about us website told her my full address and phone number.. yes my home phone number...

The wife responded and politely gave her my office number, so she called there, she told me so.

We had a nice chat anyway, remembering the old times, but I'm now just wondering what to expect from my wife when I get home..... :?:

I really hate WHOIS :(

I'm sorry that happened to you and hope you don't get into too much trouble.

But that sure is funny. :D

1. Don't use you're home number in a public medium if you don't want people to call you there.
2. Use Privacy Protection if it's available.
3. Cool wife, ask her if she's down with a pretzel.
4. You must have been quite the Latin Lover if she's googling you 20 years later. Bone her, wife participation optional.

Most of these Classmate sites use Affiliate Peoplefinder sites and they earn a commission.. I'm sure this is what happened, Your Ex-Girlfriend very likely paid for your contact information from one of these sites.

If you have a very trusting relationship with your Wife, I doubt She will make a fuss about this,... She will want to know the details of course, So just be honest and tell her what happened like you did here, It will make for good conversation and that should be the end of it. Remember; Dont lie, She'll know it.

One good reason to incorporate and keep the domains under the company shell.

do what Raider said...exactly, literally speaking, word for word!

:)

make sure you don't give the other woman any "hopes to hold on"

or she may call back, especially if she knows you're "down with domains" $$$

and your wife will be monitoring your ass in the meantime :)

though on the other hand, suppose the call was "a call of fortune"

where the caller had big $$$$ to buy your domain?

you'd see whois in a whole new light then :)

I agree that it should be no biggie - but if she does get pissed - you can fire back by asking why she would give out your work number to random people calling and Phishing....

that actually may not be a good idea...but I still would try to gently tell her not to do that.

I use Privacy Protection for some of my domains, the most importat ones, but some slipped into the AboutUs dot org website.
Yes, the wife is cool. She knows I have tons of female friends anyway and I've always have.
You won't believe if you google "Latin Lover", that's a guy my same age and in the same city as live, but that's not me..... though I wish. LOL

Lovely as usual :)

No, there are not even classmate sites for mexican highschools, and they don't even have computerized records of students.

I already knew my name show ups at Google for a lot of places, the surprising part was to show up my address and phone :S

I did talk to my wife about what that girl and I talked about.
Basically, just remembering all times, and "who have you seen lately" stories.

The wife did was a bit worried, but she knows I won't give up a 17 years marriage with lovely tripplets for some girl I meet 20 years ago (which has 2 children, btw.)
Just logic applied.

Btw, this was not a girlfriend, I meant, just a female friend, we did not even kissed.
We kept being best friends all highschool.
The wife already knew the story.

She even invited us to her wedding and we invited her to ours. But neither assisted to either wedding.

Are Latin and Italian the same boat? How did everything work out when you got home? Obviously you are still alive and we haven't heard anything on the radar :)

Everything was fine, thanks :)

As someone else pointed, if the wife herself gave my number Ihad no reason to fear for my safety :)

And yes, Latin and Italian are pretty much the same boat, except they DO KNOW how to play soccer. Not counting Brazil for this statement, of course.
