Can you confirm that whois (whois.crsnic.net)
is slow today? Looks like snapnames
experiences the same problem, as they list
lots of '?'s for availability.

I've noticed that too. I thought I was the only one. I've noticed deleteddomains is a little slow lately too, don't know if there's any connection there or not though.

Definitely slower the past few days.

If you use Sam Spade for Windows (www.samspade.org), you can try setting the WHOIS to Internic.net, or Network Solutions, if you know the domain is registered there.

It was an internet whois slowdown I think, lasted for 2-3 days and I heard no reason for it. Exody seemed to fair well but DeletedDomains was unapdated for a while to. DD should now stand for DomainDuck by the way :)

The duck also skiped the 3rd and 4th

One thing I liked - I was in DeletedDomains when they posted there new data. It included 15 3 Charecter dot coms. I manged to pick up 4 before I went broke ;)

Yupp. netsol's whois seems to be completely rotten.
The only source of whois information currently seems to be

http://www.verisign-grs.com/cgi-bin/whois

which queries 172.24.24.30. (This is a non-routed
internal network adress - no need to try.)
