I was just wondering why DNForum uses vBulletin....?

Why not phpBB, IkonBoard, Snitz or some other (free) forum.

I'm thinking of starting my own (Dutch) Forum somewhere and was wondering what software to use.

Also an excellent free message forum software is Invision Board.

http://www.invisionboard.com/

vBulletin overall has the most administrative options, and a thiving community of hacks and add-ons available.

from a usability issue, vBulletin seems the best by far......

Okay,

I'll have a look at vBulletin then.. Too bad is not free!

vbulletin is miles ahead in every department:)

Okay!

I currently manage 1 Snitz forum and 1 phpBB forum. I used to have an Ikonboard as well... But I'll try vBulletin! Just have to get myself a license somewhere. :-)

I will certainly give it a try!

Great info! I didn't know that one!

Yeah, I've PM'd him.

But it a leased license. Normal price; $85/yr. Since it's valid to december, the "normal" price would be (85/12)*8.5 = $60.

Not really a steal. :-)

Í'll try the other boards, and then think of purchasing an owned license.
