Hi,
Soon I will be going to Barcelona and I have discovered the hotel that I'm staying at according to various Wifi-Hotspot directorys that this hotel infact has a hotspot. According to the directorys the provider is Boingo and Ipass? Does this mean I can access the net over in Barcelona freely? Or do I need some sort of software or an account.
Many thanks
Matt Seymour

You have to pay for the service.

Contact hotel to see how much they charge.

In the U.S., Marriott usually offers high speed internet connection
by ethernet free to the people staying in the hotel.

I'm sure there are some free spots in Barcelona. But, you need to be
careful.

I'm sure others can explain better than I can why it might be dangerous to
use a free wifi service.

check at boingo.net I'm not sure if they charge for "roaming" but when I was lived in London I could use the same subscription throughout Europe..

are you going to Barcelona for GSMWC 2006? I might see you there ;)

Its craftey... they charge you $21.95 a month for "unlimited access" plus a varied per minute premimum charge on where ever your located.
Anyway I sent an email to the hotel and they replied saying their wifi cost is for:
2hr - 9€
and 24h - 22€

I presume I just buy a login off the hotel by a swipe of my card and dont need any additional software?
Matt
