Members get banned all the time. Hardly a reason to close threads.This is a discussion forum. It's hard to discuss when threads are closed.

Members get banned all the time. Hardly a reason to close threads.This is a discussion forum. It's hard to discuss when threads are closed.

True but that thread was started by the person who got banned to try to promote themselves (apologize, make themselves look like they're not a scammer, etc..). Leaving the thread open would have served no purpose other than for people to continue discussing the banned member, which really wouldn't have contributed to the forum.

I pointed out 2 threads. The banned member didn't start the other one. Discussing the banned member continued in other threads. Closing the thread amounted to nothing other than splitting up the discussion.

I think whoever banned him issued him a temp ban instead of a permanent ban (by accident) - but he's got a permanent ban now.
