Starting July 1, users who have registered domains with Yahoo's small-business site will see their annual fee for the service jump from $9.95 to $34.95.

They have to make up for the botched deal with MSFT and their falling stock. No wonder PPC has dropped too.

Others *will* follow suit; the Registry prices will be upped by 7% max each year. And that includes the .ORG as well from this year.

I think that was on the horizon last year.
I wonder how much they'll make if everybody transfers to resellers and sellers at $7.49 or whatever it is now?

I remember when Yahoo! gave away $2.99 domains.. *sigh* Yahoo! just isn't the same anymore. It's finally added a new word to its vocabulary: accountability...to its shareholders, its image and its customers (exactly in that order.)

Looks like they are trying to make up for loss they encountered by selling domains for 1.99 a pop.

Oh btw just a tip -- be sure to cancel your service (for domain) from the control panel or your credit card on file may be charged -- have heard it happening a from more than one people.
