As of April 15, 2010, all versions of the Opera browser can no longer view YouTube videos. An error message asks you to update your Adobe Flash Player, but after doing this the error message remains.

Hopefully the YouTube tech department will look into this, as I won't be giving up on Opera, especially version 10.51, which in my most humble opinion is the best browser available hands down.

I know exactly what their "solution" will be - download Chrome. :(

I was thinking the same thing. :D

I just found a code work around, although I'm reluctant to mess around with Opera's smooth as silk default setup.

You think I'm joking but I was just on YouTube though IE8 and a pop-under (in?) came up - "Make YouTube Chrome Fast!"

;)

Opera is awesome indeed, mostly because it's Norwegian. ;) ;)

Wow, I just did an experiment.

I played a You Tube video with FF, IE, and Chrome.

FF - very choppy, audio didn't always match up with the video.
IE - Choppy but not as bad as FF
Chrome - flawless.

I wanted for the video to fully load before playing it and the cache isn't stored in the same place with each one so don't say it is because it was already loaded.

Just downloaded Opera 10.51, installed - works flawlessly with Youtube.

You get special treatment just by being you
Mine don't work :disappointed:

Nah. It's just that I had already updated Flash via their widget prompt.

Updated to newest version few days ago (kinda getting used to changed interface, I think some past versions were better when it comes to user experience), had that problem few hours ago, didn't touched anything and it works now again.

Opera 10.51

Cool, the problem appears to have been fixed on the YouTube side.

Try out Opera 10.51 if you haven't already, it's the best browser I've ever used.
