I mentioned a few days ago in a similarly named thread about a domain I bought for $1 and the seller wasn't responding. Some of you asked me to post his name here, I was reluctant.

The sale went through on 18th Feb and all was well, I thought.

Well here's the details some of you wanted..

Seller's name - Mick Corbin
His email - [email protected]
and [email protected]
His user name - "Dot Coms Only"

Why am I telling you all this now?

The domain I bought from him expired on 12th Feb, it successfully transferred to me at GoDaddy, he never indicated at any time that it had expired.

My fault? Yes, maybe I was too trusting, maybe I should have checked. I won't be caught again.

I'm sorry for the long response after the auction. The domain name you are refering to 4tt4.com expired after the auction was completed. I certainly don't need your dollar. And I did get the information from you necessary to make the transfer as required by godaddy. If you are unhappy and want your dollar refunded, transfer the name back to me. I'll refund your dollar and the renewal fee. I would have to register the name anyway, just as you will for any name that you register. You should be aware that names do expire and they do have to be renewed. In some cases, transfer fees apply and they can be more than the renewal. Mick Corbin

Auction rule #1 (as stated on the auction page)

"Any name you list for auction must have at least one month of registration remaining"

Mick, the right thing to do would be to reimburse garyf for an extra years registration. The fact that it sold for $1 is irrelevent here - this domain was not eligible to be in the auction without that renewal.

Oh I'm perfectly well aware that domains expire. What makes you think you have to tell me that. The point is you sold it to me _after_ it expired and you made no reference to that point at all. If it still had 11 months to run I have no doubt you would have mentioned it. Not the way to do business son.

Were you able to renew or did it go into redemption?

I transferred it to enom and in doing so renewed it for a year. I'm leaving it up to Mick Corbin as to whether he reimburses me in whole or in part.
