It gets round-the-clock type-ins from every continent except Antarctica.

I've had it a couple years.

Is there a practical use for it?

Provide service for people born in 1996.
So you have to wait for a while.

>Ovicide: ... but Ultimate Search has www.1997.com, which suggests I'm on solid ground with it.

Ultsearch grabed 1997.com because it's the year when Hong Kong returned to China, AND Ultsearch is a Chinese.

Makes sense; I hadn't thought of that.

He also has www.97y.com , so that tends to confirm your suggestion.

Yeah, so it's very much like 1776 (U.S. Independence) vs. 1775.

Having said that, my client is still looking for year dot-com's like this one (from 1900-2050). If you happen to have more within that range, please PM me your list (with reasonable prices). Thanks.

nah;)

in the uk there have been countless programs recently looking at the events of yesteryear

it wouldnt be too hard building a site which only printed the news of 1996 - the info is already on the web - it would just be a matter of collating it
