Adsense, might be generating a couple $$ a month, but I would not count them in. Other people on the forums say, adsense is not the right choice for this kind of website, other networks like fastclick, azoogleads, etc etc can take it to $600 a month easily.

If you visit the website from a search engine, you reach an inner page most of the times, and then if you click on the homepage link, the referrer to the homepage is the internal page, not the search engine.

You are just looking at the TOP16 of 4809 referrers. See 4553 referrers from Yahoo on #15.

I am NOT doing any PPC. It's a regular listing in the overture search engine, not paid/sponsored link.

I found it, it's coming from my #2 ranking for the keyword jokes in Altavista,

That is why it's showing up in lots of Altavista's Syndicated results.

As I said, I did not work to monetize it pretty well. I am playing with different types of contextual ads.

Revenue Stats

EG: I have interclick advertising setup on the website, and it does around $3-4 a day : see at www.somejokes.com/interclick.gif

Other then that, I setup TargetFirst Contextual Ads, and that did around $4-6 a day : see at www.somejokes.com/targetfirst.gif

I tried opt-media as the TAF, + I still have my own TAF system in there, and this did not do well, a couple cents a day.

Together, with these advertisements, it's easy to do $8-12 a day, but as I said I do not have experience like other similar websites who are doing $xxx every day within similar traffic. This is one of the reasons I am selling it.

I also recently did a sitewide link exchange with http://www.planetboredom.net/ and I am sure more similar partnerships can be done to take the traffic to the next level.

Nobody today uses altavista, but this website is #2 for the keyword jokes there:

and since altavista has some syndicated partners, I get some traffic from there as well.
