Hello everyone,
On registerfly it says the domain expiration dates in a wierd format: 2005-09-04, what day is that? I feel sooo stupid

Thanks,
Chris

that means september 4th, 2005 :) if it was the other way around it would've expired by now.

99% of the time it's YYYY-MM-DD.

I guess the EXACT reason that they use such a format is to AVOID confusion, unlike 09-04-2005 which *could* be interpreted as April 9, 2005 in some parts of the world.

09-04-2005 is standard here in Europe and does stand for April 9, 2005 ;) As far as I know it's standard in the rest of the world as well hehe, only NA uses YYYY-MM-DD.

USA uses 04-09-2005 for what we write 09-04-2005 here in UK. It CAN get confusing.

Yeah, the only type of things that took me a short while 'adjusting/adapting' to, when I moved from Holland to the US, were small things such as dates (07-20-2005 as opposed to 20-07-2005), am/pm instead of military time, and a . in prices ($ 10.00) instead of a , (Hfl. 10,00)...

I know that space considerations come into play…

But it would be nice to avoid bemusement if the month was written out:

September 4, 2005.

I’m sure that the US / Europe difference in month / day order has caused many problems on documents throughout the years!
