Well this may seem weired (not if you know me though:cheesy:), but I have managed to put together a portfolio of US city domains covering all 264 US cities with a population of 100,000 or more.

The portfolio consists of 253 domains (yes, that does cover the whole 264 cities). The domains get between 5 - 50 visitors a month. Many have 'Overture' without suffix. To my knowledge they have never been developed.

So how do you value them as a portfolio? This is basically the only gTLD available like it, and the only one ever in the near future to be available!

Renewal costs are at present about $1,700 a year.

The alphabetical list of domains is:

I never heard of a town called "AlbuquerqueWebsite"
And what if the next one will register "AlbuquerqueWebsitesarehere.com" or whatever?
So, in my opinion the worth is: Zero/Null/nada/niente/nothing

Ahoi!

while I think that gerMoney is a creative idea, I also think that it usually is a good idea to have a whole set of something, that is if it makes sense...
I can see very limited value for this set, especially in the .net, the fact they they were ALL available should have been an indication for that.. I am sure for one or the other a buyer might come knocking on the door, but all of them? I think it would take some work on your part to pitch that to someone with a goog idea. Best of Luck

Hi Domainah, I am not actually selling these! This is just an academic inquiry as these are all already listed to be developed. My enquiry is just so that I can register the given values of the domains now so that I can in the future see what domainers thought the domains were worth in comparrison to what the website portfolio will have become worth.

For the record the portfolio brings in several thousand visitors a month, therefore as a group it has a good base for development.

Nobody else want to give an appraisal?

Come on, I will not bite peoples heads off!

There is no right or wrong answer. I will be developing them and then when they are up and running I will sell them when they are successful as a portfolio. Have a look and say what you think they would be worth undeveloped.

Reminds me of your .st portfolio :)
Better skip the renewals for those ones imo, do not see anyone willing to pay a premium.

Well so far the feeling is that they are worthless, then we shall see what a simple development of the portfolio brings. I

f the websites become popular and start earning a revenue then it will mean that domainers cannot value potential and are therefore underpricing many domains. If, conversely, the simple websites do not become popular and make money then domainers are correctly predicting domain value.

Since a majority of them are available in the .com I dont see any value at all undeveloped for .net when you can get the .com for $9

if you are buying one or two you pay $9.00

$7.00 per year
When you are buying bulk like 250 names you can signup for domain member club etc..
Godaddy has one (you pay 89.00 per year or @71.00 you pay for 3 years)

Domainers value names based on their potential without development. As a domainer, I know that CableModems.com or Keyboards.net WILL bring in revenue even if there is just a parked page on the name.

As a developed website, I could very well brand NewYorksOnline.net and so on as a network of websites. Hypothetically, with enough good content and SEO work, anything can be branded. But the fact remains that even if I spend a million dollars in setting up NewYorksOnline.net, I will still lose thousands of visitors each month to NewYork.net. Thats why NewYork.net is worth a few big thousands. It has the potential to bring in revenue WITHOUT development.

I agree, I think the domains on their own without development are worth squat.

If you were going to attach a secondary word to each city in this case 'website' you should have chosen a word that could be attached and make sense with a .COM not .NET.

Only resort to .net and other extensions for popular phrases.

However with some Hard SEO work, and whole lot of content you could be laughing at our remarks. Good Luck mate.
