5 years gone to quick

I joined this forum on 08-31-2002

little did I know I would still be on here now and again.. 5 years later.

and to think this hobby would have taken over my life for a while

thankfully to all involved it's just a hobby again, but it has been fun and sometimes financially good

I have made loads (and still do) of bad decisions, bought some cr*p names (still do), but I have had some great advice and some good contacts on here, over the years.

I hope I'm still trading domains in the years to come.. but don't have the time/wallet to do it fulltime, like some of your guys.

I'm going on 2 and a half years and hope to still be here at the five year mark too. I've learned the most about domains from the people here, and have been pointed to other helpful sites and resources. I think the next five years will be more exciting and interesting than the previous five, as far as domaining is concerned.

I don't think you need to have a big wallet to do this fulltime. You just need to make the right investment decisions and work harder.

I'm optimistic but as i'm just trying in my own little niche (sheds and odd names) then i'm the smallest fish in the domain pond..

ah and your final two points "right investment decisions" and "work harder" two things I could never do

I haven't been here that long but time sure flies by when you are having fun. I get my kicks from the process of selling -- remember that old saying -- Journey is the Reward.

Started domaining in autumn 2001, joined DS few months after, dnf in 2002 (under a different user name, and at this time did not want to pay $dnf to change my alias so I created my current account later on), and all I can say is that it was one of the best business decisions Ive taken so far.
