You've got to take a look at this video of rapper 50 cent speaking at the launch of the .club new gTLD. It's a brilliant piece of marketing that is being spoken about on forums all throughout the domain industry. So what makes it so special?
He made a "mistake" in his little speech saying the words ".com" rather than ".club" So in the end 50 cent was in the "the .com club." and not just the ".club". It was clearly a mistake but one that has been picked up and broadcast all over the place.....including here.
It's a classic case of a bad thing becoming incredible publicity. I imagine that if the rapper stayed on script and only talked about .club then hardly anyone would view the video. Now .club has achieved a bit of cool notoriety combined with lots of people talking about them and 50 cent's slip.
