Hello everyone,
I am a total newbie here and I like to get some help/opinion about my site.

I have the domain and complete site that I have being developing last 7 years. Thinking that one day my sons would take over and take it to next level. That didn't happen and I want to sell it.
I am selling my properties and other businesses so I can travel for a while.

The site has been very good to me and makes money. It can make much, much more for the right person.

I get over 1,000,000 hits/month. Google PR5, great position on Google for:
costa rica search - 4th out of 146,000,000
costa rica directory - 3rd out of 32,000,000
costa rica real estate - on first page out of 20,800,000
costa rica real estate for sale by owner - on first page
and more keywords

All stats are available no problem (unique,page,hits etc.)
My office is located in Costa Rica, but it can be run from anywhere.
My niche is general info, directory and real estate listings (FSBO)
My site comprise of ticovista.com, realestate.ticovista.com and also 1axn.com (this one I can leave out of the deal for now - I can always install the new link directory under the main domain TV and will receive even more hits or it can be moved as well.

The site has good credibility with unique design and content (that has been copied since then just about by everybody - but we still have the edge.

So, what can you tell me about the price I should ask for, where should I offer it or anything else? I would be very grateful for any advise.

I am not ready to dump it for ridiculous low price, it's actually
running on it's own - all on-line, but would like to get out and travel (I am 58 years old and it's time).

BTW: TicoVista means
Tico = Costarican
Vista = oh well, you know that one

Many popular corporation and names exist here that use similar name in the title i.e.:
TicoLindo, TicaLinda, TeleTica, TicoTimes, TicoSearch, TicaBella, TicoFutbol etc......

Very simply the guy is asking for an appraisal, quite plain if you read the thread.

AXN - great stats from what I can see but it is the income that will determine the value unless of course all the traffic is from type ins.

Give us an idea of the net revenue and then you will get better input.

Before selling or considering selling I would try and maximize the revenue of the site. Apply for the google adsense program (you should be accepted no problem) and place a few of their ads. You might be surprised how much extra revenue you have been missing out on. How many uniques on average per day to your site?

It does sound somewhat like a sales pitch, but when you're getting something appraised you need to pitch it so you can receive the best appraisal you can get.

As for traffic, you're using hits which is not a good way to try and tell an experienced user how much traffic you have. You should be telling people how many uniques per month you are receiving which is 5812 in March.

I don't know what it's worth, but wanted to mention the traffic thing to you.

It's probably worth a lot. And it's worth spending more than "free" on an appraisal. There are several aspects of the business to evaluate (visitors, cash flow, name value, end users, etc). Instead of asking for appraisals, you should probably be asking which are the best appraisal companies and brokerage services (I have no clue personally).

It does read more like trying to get the word out than trying to get appraisal information.

It seems like you like to try to get people in trouble/ put people down...very unprofessional, please try venting your anger some where else, a counsellor may help to vent all this anger towards domainers. The psychologist may also have some solutions to carry your anger into something else, if you see something that upsets you why don't you just punch a pillow. I am being dead serious here.

If it sounds like a promo thread, then aren't all appraisals promoting? It is plausable that he may be self promoting purposely, but unlikely....sorry I tend to dislike bullies and I am passionate towards putting them in their place!

I am sure you domain name and site package worth a lot of money.
I advise you to sedo to get a paid appraisal.Because free appraisals are often not so precisely.
There are many places can provide paid appraisal service. but many of them provide over-estimated price.You need to find several best and then compare them. I am not saying sedo is the best, just an advice for you to check it.

Congrats with your site.

IMO... You can establish a base valuation from revenue / earnings multiples... in this case, the source of your traffic is important in affecting your advertising revenue per click (eg. US traffic gets high rpc and asian traffic low). You should consider adding YPN or Adsense on the site and see the performance for a month or 2, if you're not in a rush to sell the site. I advise you to sedo to get a paid appraisal.

Get them interested & the experienced DNFers will share valuable insights (free) that are more useful than most paid appraisals.
