I've done some research, will share:
seems to me like a rest of huge virus or spam traffic.
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?&range=2y&url=http://tbxt.com/
The traffic culminated 1 year ago, if it got in April this year 1M traffic, 1 year ago it would have to be like 100M per month.
If it would be type-in traffic, the .net version would have some residual traffic too, but does not have. Also if it would be type-in traffic, no way the com.cn version would be free, as it would have also big traffic (according my experience .com.cn version of popular .com Chinese domain get about 1/40 of the .com traffic).
BTW the original owner let this domain drop (at least according whois.sc).

i highly doubt that this domain's traffic is "rest of huge virus or spam" because there was an actual web site under this domain for a while.. most of the traffic is pure type ins as can be seen from within the stat's;

470297 99.91% - (Direct Request)

and i can not comment on your other theories but you are more then welcome to reg those domains and let me know how it goes as i am curious to find out as well :ok:

finally.. yes this domain expired, whats your point? domains drop all the time, good ones.. bad ones... etc.

internet exploder.. hmm?

i have a ton of chinese traffic.. and the most popular user agents are always msie 5/6 -- this is nothing unusual.. or is it? maybe you know something i don't, please share.

thanks for the comments guys.. some good questions/concerns raised.

i have one person on board for a traffic test, anybody else? first come first served..

no flamewar here my friend, exchanging a few posts back and forth regarding the sale is fine with me :-)

but yea.. good point, why should you care... if not interested then simply move along.. spending time researching, posting, etc.. a big waste of time in my opinion'

a traffic test is the best way to sort everything out in this kinds of situations... simple! it's all about the stats.. and the price will reflect accordingly.. based on the quality and amount of traffic, no potential or any of that crap.. what you see is what you get.. nothing more and nothing less'

Sorry if I came off in the wrong tone, my post was sort of vague.
To me, it just seems that it's tied to spyware if ALL the user agents are the exploitable IE browser. There are over 400 user agents in the logs, so my hunch may be off.
Good luck with your sale, Mike. This domain could very well be a goldmine for the buyer.

heh yea.. got ya'

i wish i had more detailed stats... but unfortunately they are limited.. to me, they seem normal, if there were problems or even something suspicious about this domain i wouldn't be selling it in the first place.
