I just received a call from from 800-224-8606. The man on the other hand identified as 'Domain Registry Support'
Basically they called the whois phone number asking for the person on record to "verify information".
(They already tried to reach me a few days ago).
Looks like social engineering in the works.
It's either a scam or spam so I hung up on him as I was busy on serious stuff ;)

Be careful !

Don't rely on the number you see. It can be faked.

If - for example - someone claiming to be from your bank calls asking for info, call them at their public 1-800 number.

Yep I'm pretty sure the number is faked.
