Just remind you, "ku" means 'nine' in Japanese, not in Chinese.

I think that you'd better find a Japanese to ask about it.
I am quite sure it means 'nine' in Japanese.

Ku means "district". There are 23 districts in Tokyo, which all end in "ku". See the list here:-

Ku can also mean "nine" but the poster you quoted is correct - kyu is much more common/popular.
