Hi All,

I was wondering if a large company/organization owns both the .com and .net is it beneficial or probable that they would want to obtain the .us or .mobi?
I have found a name that is available (it is not the name of the company either) they own the .com and .net versions and the .us and .mobi are both available.
I was just wondering what any of you thought about this.
Thanks!

If i am understanding you correctly, you are asking if it's good to have all extensions of a name of the company? If thats the case, yes its good to have all extensions..

It builds a better brand, in my opinion

Depends on the size of the company, their target audience, and how much they want to protect their TM.

For my wife's club I have the .com. .net, .org, .info, and .us. [I really don't care about the other TLDs].

Well, for example, let say major league baseball owns not only mlb.com but owns something also like "worldseries".com and .net. and .info. In this case, would it be beneficial for someone like me to pick up "worldseries".us and .mobi?
Thanks!

I wouldnt .. as they say, .com is king

well, I did go ahead a reg them.
The NCAA owns the .com and .net versions. I figured not only is it a popular term for college basketball but for many store sales as well. Any thoughts?

It depends on the value of the domain. You should be prepared that most probably the company will show no interest in the left ones.

Here is my case:
UltraSpeed is a famous global server and hosting company in UK.
They have .com/.net/.org/co.uk/ .eu/....

I got the .US version. Even if they are not interested in getting this one, I think I can sell it to some US companies who are doing downloading or hosting services. And the combination of US is not bad, I think.

imo...registering the .us and .mobi of established companies, is bad investing on your part.

take chances on .com and try to win there.

also, please do not use this section to discuss your personal domains.

post them in the appraisal section.

Thanks
