I totally agree. I hate PM offers. I have been trying to buy several sites where I have the high offer, and nothing happens for a day or so, then the seller gets an offer via PM for more than my offer, then another a couple of days later, and then another. Nothing happens on the sale until someone posts an actual offer, and it is immediately sold. I can understand sometime you don't want people to know you are trying to buy a site, but let's get a different system. PM offers just create a ton of distrust, and I now refuse to even make an offer if there is a PM offer posted.

Since this case is a bit different - $50

I have a question for you before this thing ends. I was looking at whois, and the domain is blacklisted, and it also states that you can't transfer the domain:
CLIENT TRANSFER PROHIBITED
Can you clear these up before the end of the auction?

http://www.whois.sc/aboutwhat.org

There is also no information about the expiration of the domain or the registrar.

I rescind my offer until these items are clarified.

blacklisted by who?
I own the domain, and never had problem with it. What do you mean by blacklist?

Registrar is yahoo. and if you dont see my name there is because i edit it. It is only an administrative record which can be changed to whatever i want. Since the auction had passed, no more bid should be made now. If you still want the website, PM me. But if you still has any question to ask, post it in this thread, so that every issue will be cleared! Feel free to retract if you want to.

I was wondering why he claimed it was blacklisted to. I don't see why it would be and being familair with David and his work I feel like he is honest and unlikley to do anything wrong to get blacklisted anyway.

Regarding "Client Transfer Prohibited" my understanding is that is something the registrars say which only indicates the domain is locked and does not mean there is any problem or issue.

If he continues to withdraw his offer then woo-hoo, I win!

I am not blaming anyone for anything, and I don't think David did anything wrong either. I am just asking questions. If you look at the whois link I provided, you can see clearly where it lists the site as blacklisted. My understanding is that it can be cleared up by moving to a new IP.

http://www.whois.sc/aboutwhat.org

I recently purchased a blacklisted domain name, and as soon as it propigated to my server, it was delisted.

The normal term for a locked domain is Registrar-Locked. Yahoo could be different though. Now check out one of David's other sites:

http://www.whois.sc/freehostingcompany.com

You can see the difference. Freehosting says Registrar-Lock, but aboutwhat.org does not, it says CLIENT TRANSFER PROHIBITED.

I am interested in the site, I just want to know the following:

When does the domain expire?

Is there any reason that you know if that you wouldn't be able to transfer the domain?

I am also going to assume the site still has a valid sebflipper license?

Thanks!

As for domain transfer rules, .ORG is not available for transfer unless the current registrar release the verification rules.

Simple logic, is it possible that i can't transfer any domain that i own? If yes, show me the rules created by internic or icann!

Here, I found this for you:
Transfer Prohibited: The domain name is restricted from being transferred to another registrar. Please note that within the first 60 days of registration or within the first 60 days following a transfer, a domain name will be placed in "Transfer Prohibited" status.
You can read about it here: http://www.pir.org/Search/WhoisHelp.aspx

I think that means that while you cannot transfer to a different registrar, you should be able to transfer to a different owner. I also read in a couple of places that some registrars use Client Transfer Prohibited as a note that the domain is locked. I don't know, not a big deal.

Can you answer these questions for me?
When does the domain expire?
Is there any reason that you know if that you wouldn't be able to transfer the domain?
I am also going to assume the site still has a valid sebflipper license?

It clearly states in the WHOIS:
Created On:06-Mar-2005 02:21:18 UTC
Last Updated On:13-Aug-2005 19:35:39 UTC
Expiration Date:06-Mar-2007 02:21:18 UTC
Also, Yahoo doesn't have the ability to "push" domains to another user...
