Admitted newbie... have some strategy questions :)

So it seems from my reading here that .com is considered the king of domains to own and that .net is in fact 3rd. I haven't found what is 2nd, this was just mentioned in a post I've read. If there's an actual list or breakdown I'd love to see it. Anyway, given that fact when you register domain names do you typically get them all or just go for the .com? I admit I've got a lot of .net and .org domains that I picked up, and probably less .com than I should if I actually want to make any money. Is there a "beginner's guide" around here somewhere that I missed?

.com is the most desirable extension, however if a domain's keyword is very good I find .net to be my next choice if the .com is taken. There's no real "beginner's guide" that I know of. I find reading around the forums is a great place to get info.

If you look at the year-to-date sales of domain names it would suggest that country-codes are the #2 extension:

If I've got all the itterations of a website that I intend to sell something on (ebook) do you think I'm better just forwarding all the other itterations to the main page? Granted they aren't really making me any money, but it makes sure that everyone that goes to the address goes to the page I want
