Hi! I am new here, and have just recently been in the market of buying and selling domains. (Great fun so far;))

Anyway - I really need some advice about some domains I have managed to get. They are one word, dictionary .com domains.

I have been doing some research and looking at ended listings in various places for similar names, so I think I have an idea of where they should be selling, but I know that I don't know near enough to really know if they are worth anything or not! (Does that make sense?)

I have had one PM about one of them on the site I have listed them, asking what I am asking - and I just want to be sure I am not either going to start off way too high and have him running for the hills, or too low and miss out on some potential profits.

I really wanted them to go to auction in Sedo because I am sure they would probably go for more, but until I get a bid....

Does anyone have any kind of ballpark numbers they could help give me to help give me an idea of what I should be asking?

Thanks for any help!

It depends very much on which specific words they are. A commonly used word will sell for much higher than one that is almost never used.

For example I own two dictionary .com's that are not commonly used therefore are not very valuable - Arrestingly.com and Aggregately.com. While these are both dictionary .com's since they are almost never used they are not as valuable.

You should evaluate the dictionary words that you have and think if they are commonly used - if not think if there is an obivous website or idea that could go along with the word.

I would also suggest posting some of your names for appraisal on this forum. This can help you get a ballpark figure for a few of your names and help you better estimate the value of others in your portfolio.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Morgan
