Hello,

What is the best software to check the Alexa traffic rank for say 100 domains at once ?

Domain Retriever used to support this quite some time ago, but
Alexa traffic rank is no longer supported.

Also, is it possible to beat NW / Pool etc with downloadable domain snapper software like http://dnware.com/ and http://www.dnsnap.com/ ?

I believe Alexa will ban your IP if you hit them to often. I think this is why Domain Retriever removed the ability.

As for the software, it is very very very rare and it usually will only happen on subpar domains.
