alternatives to ebay

i want to set up a small online shop for my friend, but i dont want to do it on ebay. could anyone suggest any alternatives?

If a cheap/free PHP-based shop script is what you're looking for, just do a Google search.

Im not looking for a script, because my friend won't be able to set up the payment system (credit cards and etc). is there simply something else like ebay?

Apart from setting up an ecommerce store, no not really. Why not use eBay?
