Nice find

Seems they are following were the money was... actually only the biggest players (registrars) make the money...

They are very innovative though; Lets see what they bring to the table..

So there goes a question..

What domain or subdomain will amazon use for regs?

I put on my thinking cap and for a laugh came up with the name domazon.com. Checked the whois and by coincidence it's a name in the redemption period.

So many registrars so few customers!!!!

I don't think Amazon needs to go out and chase any customers. They already have their database of current/old customers and affiliates to target. The only question is how many of those would consider switching registrars or register a domain?

oh no. Another registrar. Amazon.com should just concentrate on their current products and services.

I heard this news before reading this thread. And my reseller myself got high. I went to check some ideas like

1. amazone
2. ramazon
3. amazonregistrar
etc

I saw that all of them were tkaen by Amazon around 2000!
