I thought this group would enjoy this message from the International Trademark Association mailing list...

Subject: (INTA-list) Selling USPTO registered trademarks

I would appreciate any guidance, advice or comments list members have on
selling USPTO Registered trademarks. We are currently in the process of
valuing the trademarks and cleaning up all unauthorized uses of the
marks and very soon hope to put the marks up for sale. I would really
appreciate any input on:

a) Whether we should auction the marks on a trademark related
internet auction site? (we also would appreciate some URLs of good
trademark auction sites on the internet...I have found a few but most
really only focus on selling patents); or

b) Should we directly approach various companies (who have used the
mark(s) in the past but ceased and desisted after receiving a letter
from us) and see if they are interested in purchasing the mark(s)? (If
they liked the mark before they likely will still like the mark and may
be willing to purchase it); or

c) Should we use a non-internet auction facility or another type of
company to sell the marks? (any recommendations and names of such
auction facility or other companies would be appreicated); or

d) Should we try to sell it any other way?

Any reading material or check lists that can guide us through this
process will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and feel free to call me
directly also.
