Stay with COM, NET, ORG, US, CN. domains

English is not the native language in China, so market is not so big. I say stick with TLD's and stay away from country-specific names. TLD's involve the whole world - as soon as you get a country specific name you are cutting out the VAST majority of your market.
 
redline : I like that kind of combination, to make unique and catchy url or email address.

Not true. .CN is good for foreigners looking for ways in. Also, for insiders, the educated Chinese are fast picking up English (the government is finally encouraging that). Englishclass.cn heh.

gTLDs are good. ccTLDs can be good under specific circumstances.

Best yet, get all.

Sorry, the playful exhuberance of the 97-00 era is long gone. May be a novelty for emails, but the cuteness quickly wears thin.
