They seem to have a lot of solid generic names like music.net, md.com etc etc

Do they ever sell any of their domains?

they are just another domain player who in my opinion are not as rich as BD or ULTSEARCH.
Todays real players are : BD, ULTSEARCH, & FMA (i.net).
a couple year ago you can add Webmagic, domaincollection and Telepathy.
