Welcome Tippy.

Nice to see another familar 'face' around.

HardcorePorn.com gets impressive results in overture.

I predict your .ca name may be of some worth if marketed to the right audience. I am unaware if.ca's sell for much or not but let's hope they do and you profit nicely from this one.

Great name that will command high dollar in the future. ccTLD's will be neck and neck with .com in popularity and demand within a few years. The difference in the ccTLD gold rush to come and the .com goldrush a few years back is that only the best names will have resale value. The top 100 names will command serious coin and I would place hardcoreporn.ca in that list along with my recent acquisition of xcams.ca

To put into perspective, if you were American and had regged hardcoreporn.us, the feedback would be you made a great investment that could command in excess of 100k in a few years if .us sites (active) grab a significant share of the US marketplace.

As a Canadian you know dotca is in its infancy as well but it has been widely adopted in the Canadian marketplace. It is years ahead of .us and has proven dotca is an excellent way to capture a market of 30M customers. Thats nothing to sneeze at.

zoobar...do you realize that we are talking about a .CA domain...not a .COM domain...did .ca's just get a market overnight as soon as you regged xcams.ca?

no value on this domainâ„¢

Alldig,

Thats my view.
I didnt give him a valuation because there are no public benchmarks.

Is that opinion or can you reference any research for that? Personally, I've found the opposite to be true with .co.uk's.

Safesys,

This would be my opinion. There are bits and pieces of information out there that lead me to believe this, but really, it is difficult to say what is and what will be. There is no doubt that .com is where its at but in any marketplace there is always an alternative competing product. Dot com meets the global needs but what will adequately meet the needs of regional markets? ccTLD's.

As for valuation of good ccTLD's, they will be valued on the size of the market they serve and the profitability of the product or service being promoted. Its all speculation, but I think ccTLD's are a better speculative investment than .info or .biz. because I can't see them taking away business from .coms. Regional ccTLD's will cut into .com popularity

more dot com's are dropping than being regged
more dot ca's are dropping than being regged
more dot co.uk's are dropping than being regged
When you look at the drop lists you can see why. Much like the tech market, it was overbought. However, quality names rarely drop and when they do the market is there. Give it a few years, let the junk clear from the system. Then you will have a clearer picture as to the state of certain TLD's. If your lucky, you will have looked ahead and own the quality that a buyer will be looking for.

Alldig claiming a quality dotca has no value is wrong. Anyone wishing to sell the following names at reg fee can PM me and I will buy them.

business.ca
loans.ca
webhosting.ca
domains.ca
music.ca
books.ca
health.ca
powertools.ca
sex.ca
porn.ca

does xcams.ca = sex.ca? Nope...therefore I wouldn't call xcams.ca a "quality name" as you have defined it. XCAMS.com I would value at $400-800 resale ...Let's give the .ca 10% of that value assuming there's even a market for mid-range .ca names.

Even a poor Chinaman like me won't be afraid to pay 10 times the reg fee for most of above domains in dot com version.
