Looks like we may have a lot of action in this weeks TBR.

Many LLL.ca's to be released.

Feel free to post the domains that interest you.

some of the best this week:

lq.ca (was up to 4,000 or 6,000 at Namespro TBR)
emplois.ca (very nice french word - 'jobs')
greenspace.ca
webinar.ca

and some decent LLL.ca

Next week avatar.ca is dropping.

I tried to last-second bid emplois and greenspace at Namespro, but still got outbid. Should have put in higher, but I do it all manually. If someone gets emplois.ca for $133 it's the deal of the year.

I'd like to start seeing Namespro do better in the TBR, I wonder if they are working on their system. I should contact their support and see how they work it.

how times change... only months ago I was able to pick up good quality .cas for $15... not any more... :-(

Lately I've been seeing domains in the TBR that I've tried to hand reg in the past year (and saw they were taken at the time). Hard to pass up putting at least a minimum bid in at Sibername for them, or more if it's really good.

Looks like Pool got a lot of good names, and Brian Kelly got many of the LLL.ca

funny though, some of the registrars under Brian Kelly's regs are just domains on parked pages, like HostingCentral.ca, or something like Fresh Grape Solutions Inc. Are these real registrars, or can you just set up 10 of your own registrars and go into the TBR each week for yourself? Pool also uses a lot of different registrar names. Is it possible to 'game' the system like this?

Sibername got three names I had bid on, but my backorder list has disappeared. Hopefully it comes back up soon. Other weeks the list has always stayed there through the whole TBR. I'm wondering if I was the only bidder on one or all of them, in which case no further auction - fingers crossed.

I was the high bidder on lq.ca at namespro, hopefully the buggers get it.
-=DCG=-

Looks like it went to "3349608 Canada Inc. " which seems to be with Pool based on a Google search.

Yeah, this thing with Sibername always makes me nervous. The names aren't in your backorder list, they're not in your auction page, but you see them listed in the results as being acquired by Sibername. Anyway, it looks like they've shown up now (at least in my case).

I accidentally picked up torontotcondos.ca :uhoh: Must be more careful. In 30 days or so, someone can have this for free from me if you promise to do one nice thing for somebody else. :) (um, if anyone wants it of course)

.

Got one outright at Sibername, in auction for two others.

One I'm in auction for is emplois.ca, already at 4k, looking for a partner to bid on this if anyone interested in that range. (emplois = jobs)

LQ.ca 6k on namespro someone outbid me there....

but now Pool has it :jaw:

Be very interested to see what lq.ca ends up at. Anyone in this at pool?
I own a bunch of ll.ca that I want to sell so this is of interest to me. Dont see many come up for sale.

The short answer is yes!

This is an example of having a non business minded board running what essentially is a commercial resource. In the name of "POLITENESS" the techs have convinced management that the registrars should only be able to query a "specific" domain every 5 seconds. So if you reeeaaalllly want a domain you need 5 registrars to query once every second. Etc Etc. So a drop business really needs multiple registrars to be successful. And the additional costs that go with it. One by itself won't cut it.

Compare that to the .com TLD where we could query (originally) unlimited numbers.....
