Hey nice quote from the DNJ, Duke. Awesome!

That was a good read!

Also, congrats on getting your site mentioned! :-)

The caped crusader strikes again. Well done Duke.

Well, it looks like DNJournal.com has been officially branded as "the" trade journal for the domain industry. That is huge! Congratulations Duke! You can't buy that kind of free advertising to fuel your site. Hopefully you can still make the rounds here when you get big(ger) -:)

note: I think that weekly "Sales Report" was a brilliant idea. It is closely watched, and will soon be "quoted" in newspapers once the word gets out. (There is a marketing lesson here hopefully everyone with a "new" online business will pick up on)

You guys are stuck with me, like it or not. :-)

It was DNForum members who chose the name Domain Name Journal and the URL DNJournal.com when I conducted a poll here asking for help naming the project back in Nov. 2002.

Yeah, but the other choices... ug! :)

I still find the person making a registration 2 days later to be a bit of an opportunist. They should hand it over just to be nice.

The last para in the NYT article says it all:

Verisign filed a lawsuit last week against Icann in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, contending that Icann overstepped its authority in preventing the company from selling certain services. It also accused Icann of dragging its heels in permitting Verisign to operate a wait list service for expiring domain names, a market that is dominated by the smaller registrar companies. Icann said last week that it was disappointed that Verisign has again chosen confrontation over consensus.

I was afraid someone would dig up that old thread with my original idea for the name (leave it to you Nex!). I'll just go ahead and say it then - Thank God you all saved me from DotBeat.com!
