Taking offers on asol.com
OVT with extension: 101
OVT w/o extension: 299

The traffic is comming from aol.com misstypes, but the name is unique on its own

This name recieved over 10,000 emails a day, from people misstyping the aol email address. You potentially have access to 10,000 email addresses a day, and send out mass mailers. I am not sure the value of this name yet so I am open to offers starting at $1000. I would be interested in researching what I can do with these emails. Please post or pm offers and questions.
Thanks
Dan

Just a quick idea, Dan. If you collect the addresses and send out mass mailings, that could (would?) be considered spam - because no one would have opted in, or given permission to receive email. However, if you set up an auto-responder, you could [maybe] inform them of the error in address and include some sort of sales/marketing message. That would not be spam because you would be responding directly to their email.

My initial thought is the message might include some sort of privacy/protection software offer. Emphasizing that "they" made an error that can leave them vulnerable to...

Just my 2-cents ('Cause that's all I have today. If I had more I would bid on the name. )

Thanks for all the offers. There are a couple options I have come up with for a use for the emails, the best being an auto-responder, saying this email has been recieved in error...etc. The name however is unique on its own. I dont want to set a BIN if I dont know what the name is worth. If I get an offer I like, I will sell. 10,000 emails can generate $10, $20, $30... or $5 a day, and this has an affect on the over-all price.
High offer is $3,000 via PM.
BIN will come soon
Thanks
Dan

To add, I think a majority if not all the traffic is comming from miss-typing aol.com. Some of the traffic could be comming from "American Symphony Orchestra League" which is abreviated as ASOL.

Traffic stats update:

High Offer: $3200 via PM
BIN set at: $7000 will sell for less than BIN, in no rush to sell

Yes, that would be considered SPAM...

However, the autoresponder wouldn't exactly work either, since from extremely similar domains and an already done similar experiment, 96-98% of the emails are SPAM or "confirmations" or automatic emails ... in other words, robots are responsible to 96-98% of the email "traffic". Also, this could potentially bring legal privacy issues from AOL.

Anyway, from what I "found out", it is not profitable nor worth the time or risk.

Traffic stats

This name would fit in the DCG section of domain names with guarenteed traffic for life. The traffic is comming from aol.com miss-types, but the 4 characters are unique on their own, trademark free.
And yes it still gets 10k ++ emails a day

High offer: $3500
BIN lowered to $4500

gl with the sale, overture update brings your domains ovt w/ext up to 117

Thanks droplister

Final BIN set at 4,000, post sold to claim
I will consider lower offers, but my decision to sell or not.
Current high offer: $3500

Hi,

I just have to ask...

Your signature says

Will buy generic or typo domains with type in traffic. Looking for generated parked revenue $.50 - $5 a day. PM me with details.

Since this domain seems to be exactly what you say you are buying, why are you selling it?

PS. I'll take it at $4k bin.

SOLD at $4k BIN
