Is there any way to join a 'private' enom auction or does private really mean private? I know that you can pay to join some domain auctions......

The private auctions at enom are usually when they have more than one bidder on a dropped name. If they catch the name in the drop, only those that bid on it before the drop can bid in the private auction afterwards.
