I thought, this was about *registrar* servers, not DNS. You won't get a registrar from DNS ??!

Yes I do every domain. I try and keep my oldest record within
the same month.

I'm working on more advanced tracking techniques but it'll be

That won't necessarily show which domains dropped.

Let's imagine someone's domain expires and is removed from the zone file. Five days later he realizes his email isn't coming through, and renews. The domain is added back to the zone file, and didn't drop at all, but you've just included that in your average..

Hypothetically, at least half the domains that expire are renewed, so half your data is flawed..
