Just picked this up... figured it could be developed into a beginners cooking site or something along that line.

Any thoughts on its worth?

Thanks,
NZ

lol i have to agree this time with drwho

haha... you're most likely right... I still like the name though, and have some ideas that I think have some potential, so I'll eventually develop it.

I agree its not an amazing value, but I agree that it has serious developed potential. The analogy would be much like the "Dummies" and "Idiot" books on the market.

The term itself brings up over a 3,500 returns on Google, so the idiom definitely clicks in the English lexicon. Having a collection of recipes, tips, and products for the *particularrly* epicureally challenged.

If you're into cooking, or can connect with someone who could wrap their mind around the project, I'm sure it is worth at LEAST the reg price for this domain. An idea like this done right will be easily promoted by cooking magazines or other websites enamoured with the idea.

Definitely up to you.

I like it!

Definitely need to do something with it. Recipe site seems like the perfect fit.

Sign You're a Bad Cook:
your family prays before AND after they eat.

I like the name.

Ha ha... actually I did notice that. There's a slew of "You know you're a bad cook when..." jokes going around. You can put those on the site like quotes of the day or something. It's good when people are freed up to laugh at themselves. :)

Can I post a picture of my mother-in-law on the badcook.com site?

It could be a restaurant evaluation site, where people post their evaluations of eating places. Do it by state or major city. I think the name itself has a curiosity feel to it, people would visit it just to see what's there.

$75.....Good Luck

Thanks for all your comments, and some interesting ideas :)

It's nice to know I'm not totally crazy and others see the potential this name could have.

So not it's another addition to the list of projects I have to start once I have some free time :)

Yeah, if you REALLY focus on the "BAD COOK" aspect, you'll do fine. I imagine the home page should have a photo of some forlorned bloke, with smutz on his face, dirty pots and pans, smoke wafting by, and a wrecked kitchen. Have a number of things that help people who *believe* they identify with this guy, and you'll have a web darling. Go to GoodCook.com and make its evil counterpart. :) You could really make it mind numbingly funny, while being informative.

Negative, if trying to promote cooking lessons, etc...

Good for a comedy site, on how to make "gag" foods... like a cake made of exlax...for your boss..etc...

brainstorming here... really not worth much.
