Couple months ago, I got an email from registerfly.com and I attempted to transfer my domains to them because they were cheaper. I initialized couple hundred transfers and then start hearing a lot of negative feedbacks about them. I started to have doubts and thus call to cancel all my transfers.

The representative I spoke to told me that they will refund the money to my credit card for any failure transfer for any reason. I confirmed with him that if I didn't click on the acceptance agreement, the transfer will fail automatically and money will be credit back to my account. What happened afterward is that they still go ahead and transfer my domain anyway and about half of the domains didn't get through but registerfly refused to credit back my account.

I have been calling them many many times, but never get through. I have open multiple tickets with no response either. During the calls, the line either got dropped or I couldn't continue to wait. Finally I get to talk to a representative today and she redirected me to talk to her manager named Glenn Stanfbury. This guy is very unpolite and unprofessional. He claims that he will not refund the money and he is going to fire the representative who already refunded $9 to my credit card.

I still have about $900 hostage at registerfly.com. I spoke to my friend who is an attorney. He said it probably not worth it to go after $900. I want to get some opinion from fellow dnf domainers and as well as warning everyone not to use their service ever. Registerfly is a rip off company and not worth trusting!!

Regard,

Kawing

You could charge it back but they may hold your names hostage, so you may want to transfer them out first.

Won't that be worst if they hold my domain hostage? The reason I decided not to transfer over to them is because I read many negative things such that they cannot transfer domain out and they lost people's domains. I don't mean to get the first representative I spoken to in trouble, but he did confirm to me that these are known bugs that transfering domains out still has issues. That's why he told me that I don't have to click on the agreement to allow the transfer to go through... and money will be refunded back to my account.

I will try to talk to my credit card company...

Can someone confirm if anyone works for Registerfly.com are member of this forum?

I too have read the negitive feedback and only have an account with them
because names I have bought here at DNF were in another members account. I will transfer them out when they are due for renewal.

If you never approved those names to be transferred and they still moved them without your permission or because of a glitch in their software they should right the wrong with a refund.

Good Luck with your case. Sounds like if the deal was not done, then no payment. If names were transfered then you may get stuck with the charges for those names.

I am not sure how this can happen when they are using an Enom resellers account. Who knows what will happen now they are rolling out a new interface and becomming ICANN acredited.

I heard a rumor of a glitch that caused some domains to get "lost"
I have an account with them and Registerfly can't find any of my domains.
When I asked them to review their records, they wanted to know "What domains do you think you registered?"

I told them to check any domains associated with my email address and have not heard back from them.
Are they scammers and will they vanish into thin air soon?
Their website doesn't even resolve for me.

If you are using their name servers, they have been down all day and so have your domains. :(

Even with these problems, saying they are the WORST, well there is a fight for that title. I just got a drop through pool, it was through psi-usa.info, it took a week and pool intervention to get access to the name. Just saying there are other really bad resistrars out there to single this one out as the worst...

ive had domains at Registerfly, and still do.. i never had a problem transferring them out ever. One thing that I find annoying is when i do transfer a name away, they will keep it listed and ask me to renew when the time comes. Not a big deal really, but I don't have the time to waste with the extra emails and clarification. As for being a registrar they arent too bad and the UI is pretty good. I'm not much of a webmaster but I have to say they did a good job for being a small guy, and the dns functions are simple enough to use when your in a hurry.
