Bush administration objects to .xxx domains

As the article states, some congresscritters objected earlier when ICANN initially rejected the .xxx proposal, on the grounds that it was a good way to segregate and filter "porn", so ICANN's refusal to accept it was preventing the Internet from dealing with the porn problem. It seems like ICANN is "damned if they do, damned if they don't" on this issue; both the pro- and anti-porn sides are deeply divided on the desirability of this new TLD, and include some highly vocal elements who will snipe at any action or inaction regarding it.
