I used to use extreme tracking, are they still good?

yes they are.
You can also use www.addfreestats.com

Looks interesting, but I would like a silent tracker (No img showing) and they don't seem to provide that.

Extreme tracker it is I guess.

Thanks.

If you dont want to show image, probably you should try paid stats like indextool or urchin. But urchin is somewhat hefty, thus, indextool could be a better choice

searchsix.com: great link, thanks for sharing

no prob , most welcome.

statcounter has no image but it is limited to 100 log as i know

I use statcounter.com, one of the best counter services even for 100 log.

I also use stat counter, not so much after getting awstats in cPanel, but statcounter was always an excellent service, and I highly recommend it.

AWstats, it has no image, its really complex to setup but most hosts come with it. Shows unique, visits, page views, hits, search engine bots, SE keywords, country of origin, browser used, any errors received, and a lot of other good stuff. Nice graphics, and is first choice for me.

yes as all of my sites are on cpanel box , awstat is always my first choice.

:-)

Stat counter only allows a certain hits per month I believe. I was told by them one of my sites received too much traffic and I either needed to get the paid version or remove the code immediately, otherwise my account would be cancelled.

I would use Awstats inside Cpanel.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Yeah, if you get lots of traffic don't use statcounter. I once got this message on the bottom of my pages rather then the counter:

"Statcounter cannot handle the ammount of traffic your site receives. Please remove the counter code."

It was a while ago, but I think the message was similar to that.

I just got the above email from Statcounter....grr...

Hmmm ..... if you are looking for a real free tracking, you should stick to open source. No individual service allow you to use as much as you like :). Probably, awstats is better choice. Besides, it already included in you box. If not, i would prefer extremetracking public account better than statscounter. At least it offer the same quality with no log limit.

tell you what I get my best stats with hcl (help center live) if it is a website you are wanting to get excellent visitor stats.

It will show you what page the visitor entered on, where it came from, what pages it visited while on your site and how long it was on your site.

It does take alittle work to setup but it is free, and ads live help to your site which you can use or not use. and a trouble ticket system.
