When purchasing a domain, can you set it to private, so that when somebody does a WHOIS lookup on that domain, your details, address, email DO NOT SHOW? so that it is more private?

how do you do that? - to keep the information on the domains you own(address, name, email) private, so that people who look them up can't see your details?

Lets say on godaddy...
???

Yes, you can set it up as private, but It typically costs extra. On Moniker, it's $2.00 extra.

I can remember how much GoDaddy is, but I know that when I have ordered more than 5 domains at once, they add the privacy on for free.

Register4less advertises free private registry, but they also charge $14.95 for the name, so it's really not free.

Yes, you can block your whois and cost range at different companies... call your rep if you have one to lower your price. some extentions can not have private whois ... like .US

becareful cause some companies charge way too much for the private service unless you make them aware you are not a fool.... :pound:

Yes you can do that - in Godaddy and WildWestDomains resellers use DomainsByProxy for doing this purpose at extra cost of $1.99 for the first year (normal price at renewal) or FREE for five+ domains. However, if you register 5+ domains for many years the private price remain FREE for the number of years you have registered your domains.

To your success,
