wretch.cc is quite popular site in China and .cc is also branded as "Chinese Corporation" in the local market so it is quite normal to see many Chinese sites using .cc.

I have a love hate relationship with .cc

I love all the high overture terms still available in .cc, but I hate how poorly they are valued...

If you think about it, .cc is one of the nicer looking extensions after com, net, org, and it starts with a c like .com, and it's quicker/easier to type in. It will need some more exposure with developped sites to gain in value, although this year there have been more $xxxx sales of .cc than ever before.
