Could be great one day. I would just kind of put it away in the closet or put a little web site up and wait until .us comes into more widespread usage. Would definitely not sell it for what you could get for it today. 5 years from now you might see a really nice payoff.

Anyone who has a domain name with "chicago" in it, may be
interested in a related domain. It only makes perfect marketing sense.

Hey pilot6!

Good luck w/ Chicago.us. The obvious choice what to do with this name would be to develop it into a Chicago information site. Boeing just moved it's HQ's there, and I suspect will make it into a powerhouse, just like it did for Seattle.

btw...The one US city I went for in the dot us roll out I was able to get. http://www.sturgis.us

I've got big plans for the site, but am working on other projects for time being. Probably after the first of the year, I should have it up running.

You could instantly develop this site.

www.oemmail.com offer free email.
Find some solution scripts and offer classified/job listings.
Put in a news/weather feed and you have a chicago portal.

Then it could be of value.

The problem is that it needs regular (daily) updates.

Hi, did you know if there are Italian services like this?

Aren't .us domains subject to the same dispute rules as .com?

For example, the city of Barcelona successfully claimed barcelona.com from the registrants.

This could substantially affect the value.

Hey, I never said it was for sale. Soon a site will be there, a search-engine type site for Chicago business, resources, etc. It should be up within the next month. It's very clean.

However, I have received unsolicited offers for the name. Let me ask you all here: If you owned the name, and someone offered you $6K, would you take it today?
