I agree 100%. Personally, I don't really like dot net's, but the word "coffee" makes this .net shine!

that is a great name, Bob. No need to sell it IMO. You have got an instant market share. I have a few one word product name .nets too but i can't seem to get one like this that has enough mass appeal to dive into development.

Fantastic name.

For me - what's satisfying here is not only that it's a first class name - but that it's a first class guy who got it. :D

Definitely a Killer! Have to have a cup every morning (and sometimes one at night!). Without giving up details you do not want to divulge, how did you come by this great name Bob?

Actually one should expect more searches for Coffee in Overture.
It's "only" 83379 for September.

Strange for me is that even "bed(s)" returns more, 86276.

Yeah, ok...I'll respond to this one. Ah....Those searches actually took place in September. In September, you don't have as many people looking up the word "coffee" for some strange reason. Oddly enough, in January in the dead of winter that number probably rises a bit--again for some strange reason...

sheesh

Oh come on.
You don't type coffee, when you actually want to drink it, do you?
I don't think it is much seasonal related.
Besides those are September searches, posted in October.

Coffee.net obviously goes beyond drinking coffee.
For example it can be used as a computer programming related concept a la Java.
It could be a publishing house.
Sky is the limit for such a name.

But we try to be on the ground.
I don't want to downgrade coffee.net in any way, I like it too,
but would like to have some real measurement here, not based
on "like" or "dislike" emotions.
Of course, "coffee" can be used for different purposes.
Personaly I think its original meaning is the best way to go.
As I said, if taken into consideration, overture searches number
is good but not as expected by most of us.
I find Overture as a good grade of market sentiment and also a
good basis for market potential.
It is obviously a product in demand, carefully developed site could
bring some respectable consistent revenue, although I can't see
"the sky is the limit here".
Reselling would be maybe the best, having coffee producers, traders and organizations in mind.
It is .net also, so I wouldn't expect more than $25K in best case.

Just because the overture results for coffee are 85,000+, doesn't mean that coffee.net will get any type-ins.

My point remains a valid one: the number of searches for the quote "coffee.net" is 0. This is a more valid estimator of type in traffic. For example, I have a domain ****.com that gets about 30 type-ins a day. The overture count for "****.com" is about 50. I also have a domain ********.com that gets about 200 type-ins a day. The overture count for "********.com" is 153. It seems to me that the overture count for "domain.com" (NOT "domain") is the proportional to the amount of type-in traffic. This is not true in all cases, of course. I'm sure that coffee.net will get some type-in traffic, but hardly enough to make a substantial amount of using affiliate programs.

The value of coffee.net does not come from traffic.

You are NOT going to corner the coffee market, as someone suggested, because the traffic will be minimal. The value of coffee.net is in the vanity. I agree that coffee.net would be an excellent name for a wide variety of businesses, such as a web hosting company.

Bob, what are your thoughts?

I don't think you could use overture in such a way.
Overture counts search terms/phrases accross the web.
See:http://overture.com/d/USm/adcenter/basics/index.jhtml
--> Tutorails --> How Overture Works

The keywords don't have to be located in name itself, but you
have to find best way to emphasize them.
The .com and .net results are probably mistakes of users who
tried to type web address into search field at various engines.

I agree. And I would submit to you that there is linear relationship between between this number (the number of mistakes) and the number of type-ins.

Hmm I would say around 2,000-4,500 Resale depending on who you contact, but excellent domain.

I disagree: coffee.net is a much better name than url.net.
