Hi - since I got this great name I like you to appraise, if possible at all right now. My thought was, that chinese are going to use english names anyhow since they are not able to type-in their symbolic chinese characters.. any opinions ?

Besides that I got

genetics.cn

and

charts.cn

today. I know some of you have great .cn names also !

Come on, Dr.Who, thats bull in my opinion. The chinese already have about 9 Million Internet users, so it´s definitely worth more than regfee - that even you must admit. But on the other hand: do you have a list of your own domains ? I´d like to buy some from you; I guess your domains like auto.com or trade.com (if you´d had those) must be around 200-500$ compared to your appraisals on the board.

Cheers, marco

; ) Thanks peaceful. I don´t want to boast with the name; I just like to collect some opinions. Anyhow I don´t want to sell, since we have a little shop selling comics - so I will establish a own site on that name and see how things turn out ;) Regards;Marco

THese names may be hard to appraise but as time goes by these names will be worth more imo.

I noticed that most of the good one word names were indeed taken, soooo we shall see.

*Think*

Is "Comics" a word or phrase commonly used in China?

I have to agree with DrWho on this one. I have mentioned this "problem" before.

The other problem with these names is that unless you are buying to strictly sell, developing a chinese language site would be cost prohibitive to most domainers.

Most companies who want to break into the chinese market will most likely use their dot com names. Some of course might opt to use dot .cn, but it remains to be seen WHAT types of names they would buy. I am assuming "TheirName.cn".

The last issue facing the dot .cn name is the "chinese character" enhancements that are almost surely to be widely used in time. The Chinese gov't is spending $$$ to make this happen. That is a big albatross hanging out there which in a investment environment you DON'T want.

HOWEVER, there are always exceptions. Sex.cn, travel.cn, business.cn... Everything else is a gamble which I suppose why we love this business!! :D

Hey, no offense meant ! We use the word "freak" for everything, I didn´t mean to get to close to you. And actually I really don´t care if it´s worth regfee or a million to you, since I don´t want to sell it, but use the domain for our comicshop . We already have a site in germany: www.hummelcomic.de - and thus comics.cn comes handy for us.

Cheers, marco
