A few months ago I bought the complete whois database for a high price, only to find out that I have no use of it at all. I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in such thing?
@katherine I've seen the "complete whois database" for sale many places. It's scraped whois information, emails, etc. for low to mid $XXX (depending on source).
It's like selling the "Who is Who" of the old days. Information changes daily, if not several times a day. Only way to maintain up to date data (and scraping is illegal) is to schedule WHOIS lookups for the zone file data. DomainTools does that and it's a full time business.
Yes they do change daily but who needs that? to have a recent and complete whois database is good enough to keep you running your projects for a fair length of time until you need to get a new version.
The kind of information you're talking about is likely to be outdated and full of errors. Real Services that legitimately offer this data (as in legal research and to find bad guys) can usually only keep up with full updates a handful of times each year, its expensive.
