Hello,

There are many topics about register.com, but this one is slightly unique because this issue has never been resolved, and I'm still completely confused.

On the 6th of March 2007 I won the domain name "ThatsGottaHurt.com" on a SnapNames auction.

Congratulations! You have successfully acquired the domain name thatsgottahurt.com.

We have debited your account $60.00, the amount of your winning bid.

Fees for your first year of registration were included in the cost of your purchase.
The domain is now registered to you. The registrar now managing your registration is Register.com(R).

WHOIS history confirms that on the 10th of March I was the owner:

I had plans to develop a media site in the future using this domain name, hell you can even see a preview at http://jackcator.com/tgh/code/ - But I decided to stall the project for a year.

On the 27th of April I tried to login to my control panel at Register.com and change the nameservers, but they never updated. After scratching my head I whois'd the name, only to find out the name was not in my ownership.

How could NameAdminInc take control of my domain name less than 2 months of me owning it? The strange thing is the name to this very day still shows up in my Register.com account, and they even want me to pay $35 to renew it.

I have contacted Register.com many times but their support is non-existent, and I have never got an answer (apart from, "we have forwarded this to our legal department").

Could anyone shed some light into this situation and help me understand what happened?

Thanks

Contact Snapnames with your invoice number and be firm about asking them to interfere.
