I think that you guys are really going out on a limb with this .st thing. It's your money, don't waste it - that's my advice.

Okay - st. is an abbreviation that could mean "street". But it could also mean Saint, Saint Thomas, stay true, etc. How do you know that the average consumer is going to equate .st with street. (unless you're the one that going to be marketing it with a big advertising blitz).

If you're not going to be the one that's going to put on a marketing campaign for this .st, I think that you're reaching.
I think that you're safer spending your money on .com, .net, .org. ,biz, .info, .us, .co.uk, .de, and even .com.au

But .st - that's really stretching it. Think before you spend. I think that your wallet will appreciate it later.

I think .st isn't any more risky then .biz, .us, or .info or even .ws for that matter. As with all these names you must build your sites, and promote.

btw: There is an inherent risk in any internet venture that you take on. Even trying to buy a "highly" generic dot com name. You have to have a solid business plan, and a great marketing campaign to succeed. Name alone won't do it. Billions wasted

Someday we can all meet on "Digital & Wireless" to discuss these "converging" technologies. :-D

Darren06,

So are you mainly counting on developing your 250,000 OVT domain site and hoping for good search engine positioning when those terms are searched for on the internet? If so, that makes sense to me.

But if you're counting on someone typing that into the address bar or counting on someone buying it from you - you'd better have a better extension than .st. BTW the abbreviation for street is st. not .st - You guys will really be angry if they come out with a real extension that actually spells the word out like .street

That's just my two cents and I could very well be wrong. Maybe my opinions are based on my own limited wallet. I've just about spent all that I can on domains - at least right now. I cannot afford to go chasing after every extension that is introduced on the market because my wallet is not that deep. My wallet has depth, but it's not that deep that I can buy .st, .eu, .ws, .cc, .nu or any other obscure extension that is introduced onto the market. I've got to be very selective and stick to my methodology in this domain investment game.

B4 I reg anything, I ask myself, "What would I use this name for?"

So, I ask you, what would you use country.st for?
