DNForum now has GPT built right into the threads.

Every paid X-tier subscriber can use the new DNForum AI Assistant on DNF with /gpt — no extra OpenAI API credits, no separate billing. It’s included with your X tier.

Ask it inside supported threads for things like:

• Independent domain valuations (based on the name, not the seller’s asking price)
• Whether a domain is worth the ask, and what a reasonable offer looks like
• Buyer strategy and what to ask the seller before you buy
• Reputation, trademark, or history risk checks from visible thread + research signals
• Quick summaries of long threads
• Domain-industry event context

It reads the thread, pulls the relevant context, and can research when needed — so you’re less stuck arguing from half-remembered “facts” and more aligned on what’s actually in the discussion (and what still needs verifying).

Alpha is live. If you’re on paid X, try /gpt in a supported thread and put it to work on your next deal.

Something seriously exciting is now being tested inside DNForum.

We have started rolling out the first alpha version of the new DNForum AI Assistant, built directly into forum discussions.

Members with access can now use:

/gpt

inside supported threads and ask the assistant questions about the discussion, domain name, valuation, asking price, buyer strategy, history, reputation, industry events, and other domain-related topics.

This is not simply a generic chatbot placed next to the forum.

The assistant can understand the thread context, identify what information is actually needed, scan wider context using a smaller utility model, use a stronger model for the final response, and, where necessary, perform live web research before answering.

Some examples:

• Is this domain worth the seller’s asking price?
• Give me an independent valuation of this domain.
• What would be a reasonable offer?
• Are there any reputation, trademark or history concerns?
• Summarise the most important points in this thread.
• Tell me more about the domain-industry event being discussed.
• What should I ask the seller before buying?

The system is also designed to avoid blindly accepting the seller’s asking price as the domain’s value. For valuation requests, it should assess the name itself, the extension, brandability, possible uses, buyer pool, visible history, authority signals, and potential risks.

This project started from an idea by @Helmuts.

@birajst and I have since been working alongside each other to turn that idea into a real feature running inside DNForum.

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes: secure user API-key storage, multiple AI models, context planning, background processing, live response updates, conditional web research, user-controlled response deletion, and safeguards designed specifically for domain-forum discussions.

This is currently an alpha release.

Access is limited to a small number of members while we test different scenarios, find problems, and improve the quality of the answers.

The plan is to gradually extend access and eventually make the feature available to all DNForum users.

This is only the beginning.

DNForum has been part of the domain industry for decades. Now we are building the next generation of domain discussions directly into the forum itself.

This looks like a useful direction for DNF. The most valuable beta feature for me would be a clear separation between:

- Forum or seller claims
- Externally observed facts
- Calculations
- Model interpretations
- Checks that were not performed

For important domain valuation evidence, showing the source link and observation date beside each claim would make the answer much easier to evaluate—especially for comparable sales and domain history.

I would also avoid presenting appraisal ranges with the same confidence as verified registration records or completed-sale data. They are fundamentally different evidence types.

Are future versions planned to display provenance, freshness, and warnings when credible sources conflict?
