Has anyone created nameservers on a domain regged at NameScout? It seems like the only way to create them is to email support, which is a pain in the wotsit.

They've taken a week to respond to my email and, 22 hours after the response, the nameservers still don't exist.. I suspect they've screwed up, because they've changed the nameservers on my domain, which leads me to think they've mis-read my request to CREATE the nameservers.

I'll give it another 2 hours, before I release the attack penguins.

Is there another way to create nameservers, outside of the registrar?

Yeah, the ironic thing is I could have transferred and the nameservers would be working by now :sigh:

Yeah, I remember I used to be queesy about transferring a domain with nameservers on it. I transferred one to eNom the other day and it went flawlessly. Good NS handling seems to get lost sometimes. eNom does a really good job of making the whole procedure transparent and accessible to users.

Upside is that transfers are zippier these days. Two cents.

Well I gave up on NameScout and set up my nameservers on a different domain regged at Dotster. Looks like NameScout never created my nameservers, as my IP's were available.

Anyway, 12 hours after creating them at Dotster they're working. Lesson learnt ;)

I recently transferred a domain that had nameservers on it from 000domains to enom without any trouble. In fact, there is a thread about it somewhere around here.

Scared the hell out of me doing it, but it turns out there was nothing to worry about.
