This is a site that has done very well in the past. I bought this site for around $6000 in 2006. Here's the sales thread from this forum:

As you can see, the previous owner was making as much as $600 a day during the last world cup. He later was making about $80 a day and getting 31,000 uniques a day.

After I bought it the site did very well for a year or so. I made my money back and then some. For many months the site was making between $30 and $90 a day and getting very good search engine traffic.

However, the traffic started to go down and I neglected the site. Recently I decided to put effort into renovating the site.

* I changed the site into a blog, added an attractive theme, submitted the site to some directories ( including dmoz which it was accepted to recently ), and started a feedburner account for the site which now has 140 subscribers. I added an ebay store, amazon ads and posters from allposters. I even made a custom toolbar for visitors.

* I also setup the site to automatically post videos about Cristiano Ronaldo.

* The buyer of this auction will also get a Twitter Account with 2100 followers, that does bring traffic to this site.

People love this guy Ronaldo and he is a terrific player. Only 24 also I believe. When the world cup comes around in just a few months he is going to be even more popular.

According to the Google keyword tool, the name Cristiano Ronaldo is searched in phrases 9 MILLION times a month! Amazing! Do you see how this site got 30,000 uniques a day at one time?

The domain name by itself is worth good money. Estibot, which can be a useful tool, appraises the domain at $3,000 for domain only.

Now, although this site has made incredible amounts in the past, currently there isn't much income and traffic is down. Why? This is because Google, in all their wisdom, recently deindexed the site. This is after ranking the site among the top of the serps for three years. For many months this site was ranked on the first page of Google for the top keywords. Now, they deindexed the site.

Why was it deindexed? I'm not positive because Google feels they don't need to explain things to people. Even those who have spent thousands on their advertising. :-(

Now, you can resubmit the site to Google to get it reindexed or you can redo the site first. Just get ready for the world cup and the next 10 years or so of this brilliant star.

This site does get search engine traffic from other sources. It ranks on the first page of Bing for the phrase Cristiano Ronaldo: http://www.bing.com/search?q=cristiano+ronaldo&form=QBLH&qs=AS&pq=cristiano+&sp=1&sc=8-10

BTW, adsense is not banned on the site as you can see.

No, I don't have the old content. The old site was fairly simple though with a brief biography and some photos.

That means Google banned domain for some reason, so i guess traffic is significantly less.

I hooked up the twitter account to the site a couple days ago and it's getting more traffic. Plus the twitter account is growing to 2200 now. The facebook page is growing also, so the site is on autopilot and traffic will continue to grow.
